Eric attended State University of New York at Geneseo and completed some graduate work while there as well as graduate courses at Plymouth State University later. He has worked as an educator since 1986 and has taught elementary, junior high and high school science classes. Prior to joining the staff in 1993, Eric taught for the Wildfowl Trust of North America on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He is certified to teach biological sciences (grades 7-12) in New Hampshire. Currently, Eric chairs the Science Center’s Green Team, which focuses on efficient and sustainable use of resources. He is also an active member of the Plymouth Energy Committee and Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative.

DAVE ERLER

Dave attended St. Cloud State University, Minnesota and completed some graduate work in Environmental Interpretation at Texas A&M. Dave was a naturalist with the National Park Service and University of Minnesota Extension Service and Campbell Gard Environmental Education Center in Ohio before coming to SLNSC in 1979. He received the Lakes Region Planning Commission’s “Kim Ayers Award” for outstanding contribution to the Lakes Region Environment in 2000 and was recognized as the New England Environmental Education Alliance’s Educator of the Year in 2002. In 2008 he received the Elizabeth Abernathy Hull Award for outstanding contributions to the environmental education of youth from the Garden Club of America and a 25-year award for volunteer service for New Hampshire Fish & Game’s hunter safety education. Dave is a licensed Master Bird Bander.

MARGARET GILLESPIE

Margaret attended the University of New Hampshire and received her Masters degree from Cornell University. Margaret began her work as a staff naturalist in 1986. She also worked as the New Hampshire State Coordinator for Project Learning Tree during her first 11 years at the Science Center.

IAIN MACLEOD

Iain joined SLNSC in 2006 after an eighteen year career with NH Audubon. He was most recently NHA's Vice President of Public Affairs. Prior to that he was Director of Center Operations, overseeing all of NHA's statewide education outreach efforts. Iain started his career in his native Scotland where he worked for several years for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Iain is Chairman of the Board of the Hawk Migration Association of North America and serves on the boards of the NorthEast Hawkwatch and the Scottish Heritage Center.

JEREMY PHILLIPS

Jeremy has been a nature lover since his youth exploring and playing in neighborhood woods in his native Michigan. He received a B.S. in Environmental Studies and Outdoor Recreation from Central Michigan University. Jeremy began his career in environmental education in the Pocono Mountains area of Pennsylvania. The mountains and outdoors brought him to New Hampshire in 2007 where he became Assistant Naturalist at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.

Amy attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania and received her Masters degree from Villanova University, also in Pennsylvania. Previously, she served as Intern, Assistant Naturalist, and Summer Course Instructor at the Science Center. Amy worked as an Outdoor Environmental Education Program Coordinator in New York State before returning to the Science Center in 1999. Amy is past-president for both New Hampshire Environmental Educators and the New England Environmental Education Alliance and is an active member of the North American Alliance for Environmental Education and the Association of Nature Center Administrators.
