Guided Discoveries Contract Educator

Guided Discoveries are week long programs which are generally two or three hours (9:30 AM-11:30 AM and 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM-12:30 PM and 1:30 PM-4:30 PM) in length. Programs are targeted at the following ages: 4, 5, 6, 7-8, and possibly 9-10.   Minimum enrollment numbers will be established for each session and if these are not met the session will be cancelled.

The Guided Discoveries Educator is responsible for creating and implementing multiple sessions of the week long Guided Discoveries Programs during summer.  Duties include:

  1. Lesson plans for each week
  2. Assist in writing course descriptions, titles and minimum enrollments
  3. Creative and engaging displays and activities in the classroom
  4. Maintenance and tidiness of the classroom area and supplies
  5. Working with a volunteer “co-worker/assistant” and/or interns
  6. Maintaining records of participants and their daily sign-outs

Time Frame:  Guided Discoveries courses are held during late June, July and early August
Compensation: $350/week
