Osprey Satellite Tagging Expedition
Join Iain MacLeod and Dr. Richard O. Bierregaard, a distinguished visiting research professor at the department of Biology at the University of North Carolina, for a unique opportunity to participate in a research and education project focused on tracking the international migrations of nesting Ospreys. Travel to a New Hampshire location where a lightweight, solar powered, satellite transmitter will be attached to the back of an adult male Osprey to allow for near real-time tracking of the bird as it migrates from its nest in New Hampshire to South America and back. Watch the whole trapping operation, handle the Osprey, and see the careful attachment of the backpack harness. This is a once in a life-time opportunity.
